Lauren Cramer Finnerty, MSW, LICSW
Lauren is a licensed independent clinical social worker with expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and depression. Alongside her clinical work, Lauren supervises LCSWs at the practice, providing guidance and support to fellow clinicians working towards independent social work licensure.She earned bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Providence College and an accelerated Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College, where she also completed a Certificate of Graduate Study in Childhood and Adolescent Trauma.
Lauren’s professional background includes a postgraduate interdisciplinary fellowship in pediatric palliative care at Boston Children’s Hospital, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School. She is certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International, Reiki Practitioner I, and has completed the Compassionate Bereavement Care certification through the MISS Foundation and the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Family Trust.
In addition to her role at the Trainor Center, Lauren is a pediatric palliative care social worker, where she provides care to children and families facing serious illness. Lauren is a published author and educator in this field. She has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, as well as in providing grief and bereavement support.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys traveling the world, hiking, and the beach. She also loves spending time with family and her Maine Coon cat, Cisco. She is deeply committed to supporting clients on their journeys, with a focus on compassion, empowerment, quality of life, and the achievement of goals.
